Presentation of Mid-Year 2019/2020 Financial Update. (Finance Director)
Consider appointment of four (4) City Council Members to Deep East Texas Council of Governments (DETCOG) Board of Directors for one (1) year term. (Mayor)
Consider appointment of Mayor Pro Tempore and Vice Mayor Pro Tempore. (Mayor)
Discuss and possibly take action concerning transition from City Council meetings held via video conference to traditional in-person or hybrid City Council meetings. (Mayor) Mayor Brophy reviewed options for future City Council meetings which include continuing videoconferencing, traditional in-person City Council meetings maintaining social distancing or a hybrid meeting that would allow both participation via videoconferencing and in-person. City Council discussed options and agreed they would like to see more information on the ability to conduct a hybrid City Council meeting. Council Member Hinze moved to have staff look into logistics and cost of a hybrid meeting model to determine feasibility; motion duly seconded by Council Member Fischer and carried by unanimous vote.
Discuss and possibly take action concerning proposed changes to City Organizational Chart. (Interim City Manager)
EXECUTIVE SESSION: A. Personnel Matters – Pursuant to Texas Government Code Section 551.074, deliberations regarding the appointment or employment of a public officer or employee. The subject of this executive session is to discuss appointment or employment related matters concerning City Manager Search. B. Deliberation regarding Economic Development negotiations under Government Code Section 551.087 as follows: a. Discuss or deliberate regarding commercial or financial information the City received from business projects the City body seeks to have locate in the City of Nacogdoches and with which the City is conducting economic development negotiations; and b. Deliberate the offer of a financial or other incentive to business prospects described by Subdivision 1 above. City Council reconvened in Open Session at 7:39 p.m. taking no action. Meeting adjourned at 7:40 p.m.
