EXECUTIVE SESSION: A. 1. Consultation with City Attorney – Pursuant to Texas Government Code Section 551.071, deliberation regarding attorney’s advice concerning pending or contemplated litigation or a settlement offer, or on a matter in which the duty of the attorney to the governmental body under Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct of the State Bar of Texas clearly conflicts with this chapter. The subject of this Executive Session relates to zoning matters in the vicinity of Logansport Street.
CONSENT AGENDA: Items included under Consent Agenda require little or no deliberation by Council. Approval of Consent Agenda authorizes the City Manager or his designee to proceed with conclusion of each in accordance with staff recommendations as reflected in the minutes of this meeting. A. Discuss and consider donation from Pilgrim's Pride, agree upon acceptance of $478,500 and agree to name the Sportsplex, "Pilgrim's Sportsplex", and authorize City Manager to execute agreement. (Community Services Director)
Receive presentation on upcoming events and activities for 2021 and provide staff guidance on future events. (Community Services Director)
Consider authorizing staff to submit a preliminary application for a sidewalk project inside the City limits, partially funded through the TxDOT 2021 Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside (TA) program. (Public Works Director)
Receive a report from Fire Chief Keith Kiplinger and hold a discussion with City Council regarding an update on the damage and recovery efforts of the February 2021 Winter Storms that affected Nacogdoches, Texas. (Fire Chief)
Consider adoption of a resolution of the City Council of the City of Nacogdoches, Texas authorized by Section 418.108 of the Texas Government Code, declaring, continuing and extending a local state of disaster in the City of Nacogdoches, Texas due to the public health and safety emergency created by the February 2021 winter storms that affected the entire State of Texas; and providing an effective date.
